NASA astronaut Anil Menon and Roscosmos cosmonauts Pyotr Dubrov and Anna Kikina arrived at the International Space Station on July 14 after launching aboard Soyuz MS-29 from Kazakhstan. NASA confirmed the spacecraft docked with the station's Prichal module later the same day.
The crew is beginning an eight-month stay with Expedition 74, where its work will include scientific research and maintenance of the orbiting laboratory. For Menon, a physician and former SpaceX flight surgeon, the mission marks his first trip to space.
The flight also carries a diplomatic dimension. American and Russian space agencies continue operating the station together despite deep political tensions over Russia's war in Ukraine. That cooperation is practical as well as symbolic: the partners remain interdependent for station operations, transportation, and crew safety.
The arrival is confirmed, but the mission's scientific results will develop over many months. Genuine Update will separate operational milestones from later research findings rather than treating planned experiments as completed achievements.
